Team Taifun Luta Livre was founded by Armin Eslami by the end of 2002. Since then, he successfully led and managed the team.
In 1998 Armin was introduced to Luta Livre by his brother Ramin Eslami and quickly gained fame in Germany as well as abroad due to his outstanding success as a fighter. In the year 2005, Armin was awarded the black belt by Daniel D`Dane, a well-known and much respected Luta Livre instructor from Rio de Janeiro.

Armin is supported by his brother Ramin Eslami and Christina Eder.
Ramin already belonged to the group of sports students from Cologne, who were trained directly by Daniel D`Dane for some years in the early to mid nineties. During a training stopover in Rio de Janeiro Ramin was granted his black belt by Daniel.
Christian currently holds a brown belt in Luta Livre, black belt in Ju-Jutsu and is regarded as one of the most successful grapplers in his weight-divison in Germany.
The technical, powerful and explosive style of Armin and the whole team stand in line with the tradition of Luta Livre Esportiva.

Classes are on mondays, wednesdays and fridays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.,
there is a class specially designed for beginners with a strong emphasis on basics such as positions and basic-submissions. Beginners are allowed and strongly encouraged to attend all classes, of course.
Please feel free to contact us for further information or just drop by to train with Team Taifun.
The training is basically divided into three main sections:
1. warm-up, strechting & gymnastics, conditioning
2. technique, drills & positioning
3. sparring
The lenght of each section might vary from time to time. However, sparring is considered the most important training unit due to the „learning-by-doing“ and „trial-and-error“ nature of grappling.
Besides, the training consists of all the different aspects of Luta Livre, from standard takedowns to supa-dupa fancy moves. The full package, indeed.
Day after day, beginners and experienced fighters train and learn side by side. The veterans try to share their experience and knowledge with the newcomers who might contribute with alternative and innovative approaches to techniques. Overall, everybody benefits from this type of training environment.
One last comment: Team Taifun Luta Livre seems to have a bad reputation and its members are occasionally referred to as the „bad boys“ of grappling in Germany. However, their success in tournaments and their team spirit are outstanding and seem to be the envy of others.
